Knicks Rumors Roundup: Is Jose Calderon The Next Knick To Be Traded?

The New York Knicks are in the process of blowing up their roster, which started when shooting guards J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert where traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Now, point guard Jose Calderon could be the next to go.

“It can happen,’’ Calderon acknowledged. “Why would you be surprised? They’re changing the staff. I don’t know what’s on their minds. If the opportunity comes, why not? It’s a business. They have a plan and really want that cap space. I came here thinking I was part of [the furture]. I still think I am. They’ve said nothing different.’’

The Knicks have been trying to create as much cap space as possible for 2015 and 2016 free agency, and Calderon has two more years left on his deal after this one for over $7 million a year.
