Knicks Rumors: New York Targeting Nets' Mirza Teletovic If Medically Cleared?

Brooklyn Nets 3-point specialist Mirza Teletovic is facing really solid odds that he'll recover from his pulmonary embolism and return to NBA action next season. If so, count the New York Knicks as a potential interested party.

The Nets announced recently that Teletovic is still undergoing treatment and testing at an Los Angeles hospital after he suffered a pulmonary embolism that has ended his season. Pulmonary embolisms usually happen when an blood clot in the leg goes undetected and travels to the lungs. If this is not diagnosed quickly, it can often prove fatal.

While all signs appear solid that Teletovic will make a full recovery, there are still tests being done to make sure that the 29-year-old isn't prone to blood clots - a condition that would, for all intents and purposes, end his NBA career.

If he's cleared, Teletovic will hit restricted free agency in July. Count the New York Knicks as one team that would likely be vying for his services.

Per Marc Berman of the New York Post, "the Knicks could have a lot of interest in him because of his shooting ability as a 6-foot-9 big man for the triangle. The Nets can match any offer."

Stay tuned.
