Knicks Rumors: Knicks interested in free agent Trevor Booker

In today's Knicks rumors and news update, the New York Knicks are said to have interest in high-energy free agent forward Trevor Booker after the Wizards declined to make a qualifying offer to the 2010 first-round NBA Draft pick.

Per Mike A. Scotto of Sheridan Hoops, the New York Knicks are one of several teams looking to land Booker's services:

Per Michael Lee of the Washington Post, Booker's solid play in 2013-14 is most likely what took him out of the Wizards' price range - not any perceived concerns about his performance.

Booker averaged 6.8 points and 5.3 rebounds in 72 games. The Wizards' qualifying offer of $3.4 million would have been hiked to $4.7 million due to what the NBA terms "starter criteria."

"According to Lee, If a non-lottery first-round pick starts at least 41 games or plays 2,000 minutes, he is eligible to receive the same qualifying offer as the ninth overall pick. Booker started 45 games."

Booker was the 23rd pick in 2010's draft.
