Todd Bowles blames 'bonehead mistakes,' not Jets' effort for blowout loss

A day after their 41-10 loss to the Colts on Monday night, the Jets waived running back/kick returner C.J. Spiller and receiver/kick returner Jeremy Ross.

The Jets are the third team this season to release Spiller, who was released by the Saints on Sept. 13 and signed with Seattle before Week 4. He was released by the Seahawks in late October and signed with the Jets on Nov. 2.

Spiller appeared in four games for the Jets. He returned five kickoffs, averaging 19.1 yards. He also rushed three times for 9 yards. In the Jets’ 41-10 loss to the Colts on Monday night, Spiller had two carries for 5 yards and one catch for 7 yards.
