The Jets finally re-signed quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick on Wednesday. But the protracted contract standoff came down to the wire.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Jets gave Fitzpatrick a 7 p.m. Wednesday deadline to accept their offer, or else the team was moving on. Earlier Wednesday, the Jets increased their offer from $8 million to $12 million, per Schefter.
The final contract — one year at $12 million, with a chance to increase to $15 million based on team performance incentives, according to reports.
