Bart Scott thinks Geno Smith should have just paid IK Enemkapli his money and maybe Smith would still be on the field.
While saying he doesn’t condone Enemkpali punching Smith and breaking his jaw, Scott said he does think Smith screwed up.
“I can understand how that situation can escalate, especially because there’s an ATM in the players’ lounge,” said Scott, the former Jets linebacker who is now an analyst for CBS, at the network’s Media Day. “Come on, bro, you’re walking by an ATM every day. It’s just bam, bam, get the money.”
Scott, who played for the Jets from 2009-12, said he could not envision any quarterback he played with ever getting into that situation.
