It is too early to call Sunday’s game against the Dolphins at MetLife Stadium a “last stand’’ for the Jets. But it is getting late — particularly for a team trending in the wrong direction while its chief wild-card playoff competition is trending up.

When the two teams met Oct. 4 in London, the Jets were rolling. They were in the throes of an eye-opening 4-1 start that had their legions of hopeful fans believing this team — under a rookie head coach, no less — was going to end a playoff drought that dates back to 2010.
