Nick Mangold tried to joking about his neck injury Thursday, but it was obvious the Jets’ veteran center is still more than a little shaken up by the incident.
In his first comments since going down in the final minute of last Sunday’s loss to the Patriots, Mangold described the moment as “a scary time” and admitted he is still coping with his first brush with an injury that could have been catastrophic.
“No, that’s why it was as difficult as it was for me,” Mangold said when asked if he had ever suffered a neck injury.
