There seemed to be confusion whether or not Islanders Defenseman Ryan Pulock would have to be protected in the expansion draft. Arthur Staple reported that the the Islanders will have to protect him.
For those unaware there are a few options you can go while protecting players. You can protect 7 Forwards 3 Defenseman and 1 Goalie or you could protect 8 skaters and 1 Goalie.
You would think the Islanders would go the 8 skaters and 1 goalie route in order to protect Nick Leddy, Johnny Boychuk, Travis Hamonic and Ryan Pulock.
