On the newly ranked number one radio show in New York, Craig Carton of Boomer and Carton claimed that he has learned the New York Islanders are headed for the racetrack. This would be the Islanders second relocation in recent years.
“Barring a last-ditch change, because like I said this is not 100 percent … they are dotting I’s and crossing T’s … there will be a new arena built on the Belmont Park track site that will house the Islanders in the future,” Carton said.
Carton went on to say that the new coliseum, the Citi Field area and Belmont were the three options the Isles considered in their relocation plan.
