Training camp draws ever so close as rookies report this morning for physicals and head-shots before taking the ice tomorrow at Ice Works in Syosset, which for many, marks the beginning of their first professional training camp.
The regulars will be in next week, on the 17th, for their meetings with the medical staff and will begin on-ice workouts the following day at Twin Rinks.
Will Brock Nelson be a part of that equation? I still think so but with the deadline for signing his new contract getting closer by the day, general manager Garth Snow went out and signed former New Jersey Devil Steve Bernier to a professional tryout contract yesterday as insurance.
