When Victor Cruz heard the details of Olivier Vernon’s mega-contract with the Giants, the veteran receiver had a request.
“I want a loan,’’ Cruz said. “I need some money. Olivier, if you’re listening to this, I want to buy a car. I’m a few million short. I need a loan.’’
Olivier, the former Dolphins pass rusher, could provide plenty of loans after agreeing Wednesday to a five-year, $85 million contract.
Cruz is a few million shorter in the salary department after agreeing to a cut in pay to keep him on the roster.
