Playoff hunt this late in season a change of pace for Giants

Not all first-place showdowns are created equal, but don’t tell the Giants that.

The 5-5 Giants head into FedEx Field on Sunday to face the 4-6 rival Redskins with a chance to create some separation at the top of football’s ugliest division. It doesn’t matter both teams have more weaknesses than strengths or the NFC East has been considered a league-wide laughingstock.

“Everything is exactly where [the Giants] want it to be right now,” FOX analyst and former Cowboys fullback Daryl Johnston said.

“They would have signed up for this in the beginning of the year, it doesn’t matter that the rest of the division is struggling.
