Injured JPP gives Giants fans something else to worry about

PITTSBURGH — The Giants have relied on the health and supreme conditioning of their two starting defensive ends, leaning on Jason Pierre-Paul and Olivier Vernon to fuel their pass rush and fortify their defense.

One of those irreplaceable players went down during Sunday’s 24-14 loss to the Steelers at Heinz Field.

On an 18-yard screen pass to Eli Rogers late in the second quarter, Pierre-Paul suffered a groin injury and slowly limped off the field. He went directly into the locker room and was replaced by Kerry Wynn.

Pierre-Paul will have an MRI exam on Monday to determine the extent of the injury.
