When the confetti began flying on Sunday night at the Super Bowl, it was a signal that the 2015 season was over. When the sun rose the following morning, it was an indication that preparations for the 2016 season were underway.
Teams started cutting players. The Eagles released wide receiver Riley Cooper. The Falcons released linebacker Justin Durant and safety Williams Moore. The Saints cut guard Jahri Evans and others.
These were veteran players set to make significantly more money than they're worth. Some had injury/healthy concerns. The Giants have some of those guys, more than they'd probably like.
