Giants Escape With Victory and Remain Atop N.F.C. East

TAMPA, Fla. — In what is no longer a surprise, the Giants struggled to hold onto a fourth-quarter lead in their game Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Giants entered the final quarter ahead by 8 points, but the Buccaneers whittled that lead to 2 near the quarter’s midpoint. Two field goals gave the Giants a little breathing room, and after several tense moments in the closing minutes, the Giants escaped with a 32-18 victory.

The Giants got a big break when the Buccaneers attempted two laterals on the game’s last play. The Giants’ Trevin Wade recovered a fumble after the last lateral and ran the football into the end zone.
