John Mara was only a baby during the best years of Frank Gifford's career, but he knew how much he meant to his family and their franchise. That's why he not only remembered Gifford on Sunday as "the ultimate Giant," he remembered like he was part of his family, too.
"Frank Gifford was the ultimate Giant. He was the face of our franchise for so many years," Mara said in a statement released by the team. But more importantly he was a treasured member of our family. My father loved him like a son and was proud to act as his presenter for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
