Former Giants first round pick passes away

Former New York Giants first round pick John Hicks has passed away at the age of 65 due to complication from diabetes.

Hicks was the third overall pick of the Giants in 1974 and played guard for them until 1977.

The Giants ended up trading Hicks to the Steelers for offensive lineman Jim Clack and wide receiver Ernie Pough, but ended up never playing for the Steelers. He instead decided to retire.
