The Giants trimmed their roster Tuesday to 74 players, and one of those sent packing is punter Robert Malone, giving incumbent Steve Weatherford the win in that summer competition.
But that does not mean the competition at punter is finished.
Coach Tom Coughlin made it clear Weatherford has not done everything asked of him as he attempts to keep hold of a job he’s owned the past four years.
“Well, there’s a game to go, and it’s going to be a competitive thing,’’ Coughlin said, alluding to the preseason finale Thursday at New England. “Not necessarily with the guys that are here.
