Instant Reaction: Giants Crush Titans In 36-7 Rout

For a Giants team reeling after seven straight losses, a matchup with the Tennessee Titans was just what the doctor ordered.

RB Andre Williams and WR Odell Beckham Jr. both had big days, the Giants D completely shut down the Titans offense, and Titans QB Zach Mettenberger went down in the fourth quarter with an injury and did not return.

Turning Point:

When Giants DT Markus Kuhn recovered a fumble late in the first quarter and took it 26 yards to the house, you could see the Titans were pretty much done with this one. The touchdown put New York up 17-0, and it was largely one-way traffic from then on.

Giants MVP:

While RB Andre Williams, LB Jameel McClain and LB Devon Kennard all had big games and deserve recognition, we have to give it to WR Odell Beckham Jr. After his stunning catch in a loss to the Cowboys last week, he hauled in 11 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown against the helpless Titans secondary. If this game had been remotely close and the Giants had kept passing, he could have doubled that total.

Stats of the Day:

- Tennessee ultimately finished 2-13 on third down conversions and 1-3 on fourth down conversions.

- On two scrambles late in the fourth quarter, Titans QB Jake Locker gained more yards (28) than starting RB Bishop Sankey gained all day (25).

- Three Giants had multiple sacks today - Jason Pierre-Paul, Devon Kennard and Damontre Moore all brought down a Titans QB twice.

What's Next?

The Giants will try to take this momentum into their next game, a home matchup with the floundering Washington Redskins. The Titans, now 2-11, will be playing for pride next weekend when the New York Jets come to town.
