David Villa has been named to the MLS XI Best XI for 2016.
The 35-year old scored 23 goals to fire his team to the MLS Playoffs for the first time.
Villa becomes the first NYCFC player to earn a place in the league’s best XI following a remarkable sophomore season at Yankee Stadium.
Spain’s record goalscorer is also down to the last three for MVP along with Red Bulls duo, Bradley Wright-Phillips and Sacha Kljestan.
