METAIRIE, La. -- It's been a while since sentence like this has been written -- and it probably came with a Buffalo dateline. But two of the guys who have been flashing most for the New Orleans Saints over the past week are safety Jairus Byrd and running back C.J. Spiller.
Both former Buffalo Bills Pro Bowlers got off to disappointing starts in New Orleans because of knee injuries. But both are healthy now and giving reason for cautious optimism.
Byrd, 29, may have just strung together his two best practices since 2014 on Monday and Tuesday, highlighted by an interception and two pass breakups in the end zone during competitive full-team drills.
