Saints sign John Dorenbos: is he the magic the team needs at long snapper?

Long snapper Justin Drescher appeared in a walking boot at Saints practice on Monday and the team quickly moved to bring in another. John Dorenbos was acquired by the team from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a 7th round draft pick in 2019.

New Orleans has had a long snapper carousel throughout training camp. Training camp started with young players: Jesse Schmitt, Chase Dominguez and Thomas Gafford. The team recently brought back 7-year Saints vet Justin Drescher.

Drescher nearly caused a muffed kick with a bad snap on a field goal try in Preseason Game 3 and with him now being in a walking boot, the Saints aren’t taking any chances.
