As the nation was getting ready for Super Bowl LIII on Sunday, news came out via NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Twitter that the Saints were preparing to make a new deal with defensive coordinator Dennis Allen that would go a long way toward keeping him in New Orleans for the short-term future at least.
Shortly after that information was tweeted, Monday Morning Quarterback’s Albert Breer tweeted that a three-year deal was already in the can to be finalized sometime today.
Dennis Allen was interviewed recently by the Miami Dolphins for their then vacant head coaching position.
