New Orleans Saints linebacker Dannell Ellerbe's quad injury has prevented him from playing in a regular-season game entering Week 8.
While he admits to feeling frustration, the linebacker believes he is progressing well.
"Leaps and bounds," Ellerbe said. "I feel like I'm very close."
The eighth-year pro is also aware of the fan frustration over him not being healthy this season.
"First thing they don't understand I'm not trying to get hurt, first of all," Ellerbe said. "I mean, it's not like I go on the field, 'OK, I want to hurt myself.
