New Orleans Pelicans and HOOPLA Dedicate Refurbished Basketball Court in Lafayette; Tradition Now in Seventh Year

NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans Pelicans and The Louisiana Legislative Charity Fund will dedicate a refurbished basketball court at Heymann Park (1500 S. Orange St.) in Lafayette on Friday, April 29 at 10:00 a.m.

Stephen Parker Pate, Pelicans Senior Director of Community and Governmental Affairs, will be joined by State Representative John Schroder (St. Tammany Parish), State Representative Vincent Pierre (Lafayette Parish), and Senator Gerald Boudreaux (Lafayette). Also in attendance will be over 100 children that take advantage of the Lafayette Parks and Recreation Department, Pelicans mascot Pierre the Pelican, members of the Pelicans Dance Team and other members of the Pelicans administrative staff.
