NEW ORLEANS – The New Mexico State football team was selected to finish 10th in the 2017 Sun Belt Preseason Poll that was released Thursday afternoon.
The preseason poll was voted on by each member institution's head coach, which saw NM State tally 41 points – including one first-place vote. The 41 points have the Aggies ahead of Texas State (31 points) and incoming member Coastal Carolina (26 points).
Appalachian State (136 points) was picked to win the league by nine points over Troy (127) thanks to seven first-place votes while the Trojans collected two.
