If it wasn't apparent to NM State basketball fans everywhere when nearly 100 of his relatives stepped foot inside the Jones Convocation Center on February 6 of this year to witness his return to his native Chicago, family is one of the strongest forces in the life of rising senior Evan Gilyard II.
"We're a tight, close-knit family," explained Gilyard II, who played his prep basketball at Simeon High School before migrating down to the borderland for his collegiate career. "We all support each other, we all show each other love, we all have each other's back and the concept of family is very important to everyone in our family.
