The University of New Mexico women’s basketball team got its feet wet Monday, dipping toes in the Gulf of Mexico near Clearwater, Florida.
For the next two days, the Lobos will be immersed in stiff competition. UNM (6-4) takes on Old Dominion (8-4) and Mississippi State (10-2) in the Sun Coast Challenge at Pasco-Hernandez State College in New Port Richey, Florida – a suburb of Tampa.
With final exams completed last week, the Lobos are making the most of a balmy December getaway. They traveled to Florida on Sunday and, after an early practice session, took in a few of the area’s sights on Monday.
