New Mexico Lobo junior midfielder Chris Wehan is the consensus national player of the week.
Top Drawer Soccer, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and College Soccer News selected him after he scored all four of UNM’s goals in two games last week.
“Chris is a great player, but more importantly, he’s just a wonderful person, a great leader, a caring person, and he sets the tone for our team,” Lobos coach Jeremy Fishbein said. “… He’s just a guy you want to represent you at all times.”
Wehan was also named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week, making him the second Lobo to earn a C-USA weekly award this season.
