POINT PLEASANT - Miles Wood got a taste of NHL action when he made his debut with the Devils in 2015-16, playing in one game after finishing his season at Boston College.
Now as his first full season of professional hockey is rapidly approaching, Wood remains focused on what he's had his sights on his entire life.
"For me, I'm heading into my first pro season, and I've waited 20 years for this," Wood said. "I just need to continue to skate, continue to get bigger, stronger, the next few months here, and just attack training camp hard and compete for a spot.
