Injury-riddled Devils face their first real crisis of season

MONTREAL — Is this the Devils' first crisis of the season?

Defenseman John Moore suffered a lower body injury, apparently when he blocked a Brendan Gallagher shot early in the first period, and did not play the final 53 minutes of the Devils' 2-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre.

Although Moore walked out of the dressing room on his own, he was not made available to reporters and coach John Hynes would not offer an update.

"Not sure yet," Hynes said.

Moore has been the Devils' most underrated player in the first half, scoring two overtime goals and playing steady defensively.
