Devils captain Andy Greene nominated for Masterson Trophy

NEWARK -- After a season filled with adversity on and off the ice, Andy Greene in the Devils' Bill Masterson Memorial Trophy nominee.

The Bill Masterson Memorial Trophy is awarded to the NHL player who best exemplifies perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey. Greene is the Devils' nominee for the second straight season.

The captain dealt with adversity on and off the ice during the 2016-17 season, first dealing with a hand injury that snapped his 350-game ironman streak and sidelined him for a month. Then in early March, Greene stepped away from the team for four games after the death of his father, David.
