The Devils had limited power play chances over recent games, but that changed in a big way Saturday. The Devils had seven power plays, converting on two of them to pull away.
"We made a lot of good puck decisions tonight. We skated well, drew a lot of penalties," forward Travis Zajac said. "When you do that, you give yourself momentum off the PP."
Along with the first-period fight between Devils forward Miles Wood and and Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds, their was plenty of chippy play between the teams, with 17 total penalties.
