The New England Patriots have had contract extension talks with defensive tackle Christian Barmore, per Patriots coach Jerod Mayo.
Barmore has been a key piece of the team’s defensive line during his time with the organization. He has recorded 133 tackles and 12.5 sacks over a span of three seasons. He tallied 64 tackles and 8.5 sacks in 2023, which were all career-highs.
The Alabama product has helped add stability to the defensive tackle position in a unit that has become one of the best in football overall.
If an extension were to happen, Barmore would only be the second Patriots player drafted in the first three rounds to get a second contract with the organization since the 2013 season.
