Texans' J.J. Watt headed to injured reserve after re-injuring back (Shutdown Corner)

Terrible news for the Houston Texans: according to a league source, All-Pro defensive end J.J. Watt is headed to injured reserve.

Watt underwent back surgery in mid-July, just days before the Texans opened training camp. He rushed his rehab and was on the field for the season opener less than two months later. Watt started the first three games of the season for Houston, but it was obvious that he wasn’t back to 100 percent.

Last Thursday night against the New England Patriots, he was virtually erased from the game; he was credited with two tackles and zero quarterback hits.
