DENVER - C.J. Anderson's right hand was held high as he completed his journey to the end zone, the completion of a magnificent comeback and the announcement of this edition of the Broncos as a legit Super Bowl contender.
As Anderson completed his 48-yard TD run, hundreds of thousands of fans in living rooms and bars joined tens of thousands of fans at Mile High in a mass celebration. The Broncos had defeated the Patriots, 30-24, in overtime, producing overflowing happiness across the Front Range.
This is not shallow joy. There is abundant, and concrete, reason to rejoice.
