Patriots pick Alabama cornerback Cyrus Jones in second round

With starting cornerbacks Malcolm Butler and Logan Ryan entering the final year of their contracts, the New England Patriots added a high-intangibles, talented prospect in Cyrus Jones, who will also factor into the return game.

My take. Love it. Part of the reason the "favorite five" series is put together before the draft is to be accountable when a team picks a player that is identified before the draft as a good fit. The 5-foot-9 7/8 and 197-pound Jones was one of my favorite five prospects at cornerback for the Patriots because of a combination of four-down value, quickness, toughness, and high intangibles.
