FOXBORO — The opportunities for offensive linemen Shaq Mason and Tre’ Jackson remain plentiful.
However, don’t expect the Patriots rookies to speak much about the chance for early playing time, or even a starting job, as their maiden voyage in Foxboro begins.
During yesterday’s interviews at Gillette Stadium, the two kept the conversation hovered strictly around individual improvement and helping the team achieve its goals.
“I’m just focused on each and every day, just trying to get better,” said Mason, an interior lineman out of Georgia Tech, when asked about possibly winning a starting job. “I’m not looking long term.
