The New England Patriots have released quarterback Nathan Rourke, according to reports.

Rourke’s release comes one week after the Patriots picked two quarterbacks in the 2024 NFL Draft, selecting North Carolina QB Drake Maye third overall and Tennessee QB Joe Milton III in the sixth round.

Rourke, 25, joined the Patriots near the end of the 2023 season after the team claimed him off waivers in December. He previously played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, which signed him to its practice squad in January 2023 before releasing him in December.

Prior to his time with the Jaguars, the Ontario, Canada, native played two seasons for the Canadian Football League’s B.
