FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Pro Bowl defensive end Chandler Jones, who leads the New England Patriots with 12.5 sacks, has been ruled out for Sunday's season finale against the Miami Dolphins with toe and abdomen injuries.
Jones had been practicing fully and playing through an abdomen injury in recent weeks, but his status changed when his toe injury was added to the Patriots' participation report on Thursday, and he was a limited participant that day.
In addition to Jones, the Patriots have also ruled out receiver Julian Edelman (left foot), linebacker Dont'a Hightower (left knee), offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer (left ankle), rookie cornerback Justin Coleman (concussion) and linebacker Jonathan Freeny (right hand).
