CINCINNATI — Team captain Andrew Whitworth would like to know where he stands in the Bengals' plans.
The offensive tackle was taken by surprise — just like everyone else — when Cincinnati drafted players at his position with its first two picks last week. Whitworth is entering the final year on his deal and has tried to get some insights from the team about its intentions.
So far, he's heard nothing.
Whitworth says the uncertainty over his status makes it much more difficult to fill the role of team leader.
Right tackle Andre Smith also is wondering about his future after Cincinnati took Cedric Ogbuehi (oh-BWAY'-hee) in the first round and Jake Fisher in the second.
