At this time of year, the film, for the most part, has been analyzed. The pro days, combines and personal workouts are over. The information that needs to be assessed has been thoroughly digested.
In other words, while the draft boards may not be set and plenty will change on draft day in terms of shuffling with spots and players, most of the player evaluation legwork is done.
Whether or not this turns out to be a deep draft will ultimately be decided when these players get on the field. For now, though, there seems to be a relative consensus that positions like cornerback, running back, wide receiver, defensive line, linebacker and offensive guard are talent-rich this cycle, but if you’re looking for a quarterback, tight end, or left tackle in the later rounds, you may be out of luck.
