FOXBORO — Brandon Spikes seemed his usual self after yesterday’s organized team activities: charismatic, funny, a bit playful.
However, for as much as the linebacker seemed like he hadn’t changed since leaving New England for a year with the Buffalo Bills, there were slight differences. In addition to his playful side, he offered a more mature and reflective tone. His inability to show that maturity scarred his first four years here. He clashed with coach Bill Belichick, and after Spikes missed a practice during a bye week in January 2014, he was placed on injured reserve.
That may have been the last straw before Spikes signed with the Bills as a free agent.
