Wolf Pack assistant Gus Argenal out to create more positive memories at Lawlor

Gus Argenal’s first memory of Lawlor Events Center wasn’t great, but it also provided a window into just how great the Wolf Pack basketball program could be.

Argenal visited Nevada’s home arena in December 2003 when he was a senior point guard at UC Davis. The underdog Aggies began the game with the ball and wanted to reverse it five or six times before getting a cut to the basket. After the ball movement, it was Argenal who attacked the rim for what appeared to be an open layup. Instead, Kirk Snyder, Kevinn Pinkney and friends met him at the rim.
