RB James Butler named Wolf Pack football's MVP

Wolf Pack junior running back James Butler was named the Wolf Pack’s Golden Helmet Award winner as the team’s most valuable player.

Butler, who also was named the team’s Outstanding Offensive Player, is the first junior to win the Golden Helmet since Colin Kaepernick in 2009. Kaepernick also won it as a sophomore in 2008 and as a senior in 2010.

Butler rushed for 1,336 yards, the 14th-best mark in the nation, and a career-high 12 touchdowns. He hit the 3,000-yard mark for his career, with his total of 3,313 yards moving him into eighth all-time at Nevada.
