One day after digging out of a five-run deficit, the Nevada softball team repeated that feat, this time with its season hanging in the balance.

The Wolf Pack lost its first game Wednesday afternoon, a 1-0 decision to Cal Poly, before rallying out of a 7-2 deficit to score a 9-8 win over host Pacific in the Stockton Region at the inaugural National Invitational Softball Championships. The win put Nevada in the regional championship round against Cal Poly.

The Wolf Pack (30-24) must beat the Mustangs twice on Thursday to advance to the six-team NISC finals. The first game between Nevada and Cal Poly is scheduled for noon.
