Manogue to hold vigil for Michael Yenick

Bishop Manogue High School will host a candlelight vigil in remembrance of the one-year anniversary of the passing of Michael “Bub” Yenick, who starred for the Miners before playing for the Nevada Wolf Pack football team.

Yenick, whose death led to a federal drug investigation that resulted in nine arrests last May, died as a result of an oxycodone overdose last year at 33. The candlelight vigil is scheduled for Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.

“We are honored to be able to work with the Yenick family to host this event as they remember their beloved son,” Bishop Manogue principal Brianne Thoreson said in a news release.
