Big run pushed Wolf Pack past Pacific

Nevada and Pacific have played a non-conference contest every season for the last 15 years, making it the longest active non-league feud for the Wolf Pack. The series has been marked by one thing: close games.

Entering Tuesday’s game at Lawlor Events Center, each of the last four games between the rivals had been decided by four points or fewer or gone to overtime. Six of the last nine also fit that criteria.

This season’s game was trending in the same direction, a tug-of-war that saw five ties and seven lead changes in the early-going. But with the Wolf Pack trailing 50-46 midway through the second half, Nevada went on 22-2 run to turn a nail-biter into a no-doubter in a 77-67 win before 6,920 fans.
