With the winner of the U20 US Open in Las Vegas earning a bye to the finals of the U20 World Team Trials in late May, there is a lot on the line for these 11 current or future Huskers competing this weekend in freestyle. Also, the top eight finishers automatically qualify for the World Team Trials challenge tournament.
The U20 division is full of some of the best high school and early college wrestlers in the country — it starts on Friday and goes through Saturday night.
Nebraska doesn’t have any of its ten likely starters competing (many aren’t eligible for the division), but the future faces of Husker wrestling will absolutely be on the mat, giving us a sneak peak at what’s to come.
